Nestled in the northern mountains of West Virginia, you'll find Kelly Smith-Anderson at work raising Romney & Leicester Longwool sheep and creating ewe-nique sheep design sweaters. Through her love of sheep and knitting, she started Hopping Acres Originals in 1984. Kelly has taken her dream and made it a reality. Hopping Acres is pleased to announce the addition of the Tattersleigh flock fall 2008.
2009 ALBC UPDATE : The Leicester Longwool sheep is not enjoying success, and is moving from Threatened to Critical. The populations in the U.S. and other countries are declining, including in its home country of England, making the U.S. population all the more important to the long-term survival of the breed.
